Papyruses are one of secret items in Assassin's Creed: Origins. Each papyrus contains a puzzle. You can check it after collecting that item (the picture 1). However, if you missed that moment, you can always check them in your inventory - they are in the upper right part (the picture 2). Completing a puzzle gives you a random rare or legendary item.

Warning - Some papyrus puzzles must be solved in different regions. If that area happens to be "reserved" to a high-level character then you can try to take a risk - avoid all enemies and wild animals during your searches or leave it for later.
