The Sentinel is the first hybrid profile. It focuses on the usage of abilities from both Biotic and Tech trees, making it perfect for those who are investing skill points in both of those skill trees. It requires 3 / 12 / 27 / 50 / 78 / 116 points invested in Biotic and Tech skill trees to unlock 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th / 5th / 6th level of this profile.

Note - remember that you have to invest the required amount of skill points in both skill trees; it cannot be a combined value. It means that if you want to unlock, for instance, the 3rd level of Sentinel, you have to invest at least 27 points in Biotics and 27 points in Tech.

Below you can find a table showing all of the passive bonuses given to the character when the profile is active, from the first to the sixth level of the Sentinel profile.

There are several things worth noting when it comes to the data presented in the table:

  • Tech Recharge Speed - this parameter influences the time needed for a Tech tree ability to recharge after using it. For instance, ability with recharge time of 10 seconds and 20% Tech Recharge Speed on a character will have its recharge time reduced by 2 seconds, requiring 8 seconds to get off cooldown.
  • Power Shield Cost Reduction - this parameter influences two abilities from the Biotic skill tree, Lance and Nova, in which you've unlocked the upgrade that takes off their cooldown times and causes them to cost shield points in return. If, for instance, the Nova ability costs 100% shield, with 35% Power Shield Cost Reduction from 4th level of the Sentinel profile it will cost only 65% shield.
  • Power Restoration and Defense - it affects some of the abilities from the all of the skill trees. "Restoration" influences, for instance, the amount of shield points you will receive after hitting the enemy with Charge or Energy Drain abilities. "Defense", on the other hand, has impact on the amount of health points your shield generated by the Backlash ability will have, or the amount of health constructs created by Remnant VI and Assault Turret will have.

This profile gives access to a single additional ability called Tech Armor. It gives 30 points of Damage Resistance when an enemy depletes your shields. Generally speaking, it increases your damage reduction when you are left with health only.

With the above described ability, this profile is a perfect choice for a hybrid character focused on the usage of both Biotic and Tech abilities. It will be especially useful to players relying on Nova and Lance abilities, both with the upgrade that takes cooldown times out and causes them to cost shield points instead. Power Shield Cost Reduction decreases the shield cost of those abilities, allowing you to use them more often and without fear that one of them will deplete the entire shield of your character.
