Beginning the quest

The mission appears in your journal after you speak with Den which can be found in front of one of the huts near the Mother's Crown gates. It turns out that his friends are lost and he asks Aloy to find them. Den informs you that his friends could be lost in the ruins near Devil's Thirst.

The mission

Follow the marker and, very quickly, you can find damaged machines laying on the ground. Use Focus to examine the terrain and search the machines marked by it to continue the quest. You quickly find villagers' tracks. Highlight the footsteps and follow them until you reach one of the nearby buildings. Den's friends are trapped on the upper level of the building and under them two Sawtooths are watching over the terrain. You must eliminate the machines to allow the prisoners to go down safely.

Although here you must face two enemies, the rules are the same as with the Sawtooth during one of the main missions. They have separate routes that start near the ruins' entrance. This is a perfect chance to use Tripcaster traps in the passage. Thanks to that the machines are defenseless for a few seconds.

Prepare fire arrows and, when hiding, shoot at them. Aim for the canister on the belly. If all goes according to the plan, the second machine won't even notice that you are nearby. Wait for the machine to calm down and use the next trap. Do the same with the second machine but use the second exit from the ruins.

After the fight, check the box showed on the picture. After a short cut-scene go back to Mother's Crown and speak with Den to finish the quest.
