First steps

The beginning of the Suebi campaign is much more difficult than in the case of other factions - Victory conditions and the first steps - Factions - Suebi - Total War: Rome II - Caesar in Gaul - Game Guide and Walkthrough

The beginning of the Suebi campaign is much more difficult than in the case of other factions. Even though you have two allies, you are surrounded by unfriendly neighbours, whereas much stronger Rome is only one province away (which they will likely conquer in a couple of turns).

Since you start the game in the state of war with Sequani, you should take the nearest possibility to strike at them. With this end in view, create the second army in Rauricum region and then station it together with the first one on the border of Vesontio region. Start away with recruiting 3 infantry units and, after taking care of other tasks (production, technology), end the current turn. Now hire mercenaries then strike at the Sequani capital city and capture it in a single attack. It may not be an easy task, however, completing this will result in having full control over Maxima Sequanorum province, which will enable you to issue an edict.

In the next turn recruit mercenaries and attack Vesontio with both armies - Victory conditions and the first steps - Factions - Suebi - Total War: Rome II - Caesar in Gaul - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Unfortunately, the next steps depend on the Celts' actions and on how the diplomacy in the region unfolds. It is necessary not only to station troops in the newly conquered province (as a security measure against the Helvetii), but also to help your allies against the Treverorum and the Mediomarici. I suggest to keep two armies in close range of Maxima Sequanorum and create a third one in Uburzis, which then you should send north to Arduenna Silva province. The ultimate goal of this mini-campaign is to conquer Germania Inferior province. However, there is no harm in finishing the conquest of Arduenna Silva in the meantime.

The armies you left to defend Maxima Sequanorum may be used to attack the settlements that belong to your western and southern neighbours. Winter invasions are especially effective, since snow prevents enemy armies to move out, thus letting you pick your targets freely. However, I advise you against expanding too quickly into the west or the south, because isolated settlements may become an easy prey for your opponents - it is best to keep plundering your enemies in order to get rich, increase the army experience, as well as regularly weaken your neighbours.

Upon conquering Germania Inferior, Arduenna Silva and Maxima Sequanorum you may venture into confederation with Namnetes and Vangiones - this way you can get to control the entire Silva Nigra province. Now you may strike at Silva Carbonaria and from them at Senonia. After securing the western border of your country you should focus on the south: Helvetia, Insubria and Liguria. Now the only thing left is to head to Narbonensis, to finish the campaign.
