In State of Decay 2 there are four main resources on which your community depends to survive: food, medical supplies, fuel and building materials.
Food
It is hard to imagine the possibility of surviving without food. It's no different in State of Decay 2, so it's important to keep building up your food supply to feed the survivors you care for. It should be taken into account that food stocks are shrinking overnight. As your community grows and grows, so does the demand for food. Food bags have a pizza stamp and can be found most often in restaurants, supermarkets or other dining rooms, although sometimes you can find food in the kitchen of one of the usual buildings.
Medical supplies
Keeping your community in good health will be essential to keep your survivors physically and mentally fit. As you play State of Decay 2, your Heroes may suffer from a variety of injuries, minor ailments, or serious infectious diseases that cannot be cured simply by resting in bed. Stocks of medicines can usually be found in the vicinity of pharmacies or various medical practices. Medicine stocks are marked with a cross icon.
Fuel
Fuel is essential when you want to use the car as a means of transport or to run a generator. It is also suitable for the creation of explosives and inflammable bombs. Fuel stocks are marked with a petrol canister icon.
Building materials
Required for base development. They can usually be found in the vicinity of workshops, unfinished buildings or sheds. Building materials are marked with 3 wooden beams.
In addition to the main resources, State of Decay 2 has a wealth of smaller raw materials, mechanical and electronic components that you'll need to repair your old weapons or manufacture ammo. It is worth to collect them all and gather them in a storage because you never know when they may come in handy.
Another important issue in the State of Decay 2 that will make a significant contribution to the survival of your community is the proper management of the base. At the beginning of the game, you will have a ravaged building, which should be cleaned first and then successively extended. In order to build additional buildings, such as a workshop or a generator, you need the right amount of building materials. Base expansion can be ordered from a special base management window. Remember, that any of your activity requires a sufficient number of survivors, it will last a certain amount of time and increase the level of threat - so that you can be attacked by Zombie attracted by a loud noise coming from the construction site. It is worth to have the following expansions at the beginning:
- Infirmary - medical point will allow to take care of the health of survivors. You will have the opportunity to create small medicines and painkillers, as well as send one of the survivors for treatment, if necessary.
- Generator - your community will require access to electricity so you need to install the generator. Remember, however, that you will need the right amount of fuel for it to function properly.
- Water filter - In addition to access to electricity, your community will need access to clean water.
- Sufficient number of beds - when your community starts to develop and increase its numbers you will be forced to provide accommodation for everyone.
In addition to the above operations, you can install additional Mods on any of the available sites that will benefit the morale of your community. In the State of Decay 2 you can, among other things, put a comfortable armchair in your bedroom or provide pesticides in your garden to increase its performance.
