Prologue | Main Missions Walkthrough South Park: The Fractured But Whole Guide

Last update: 20 October 2017

Upon starting the game, you can choose colors of your character's costume as well as their hair - the costume isn't important, you will change it later. You also select a difficulty level which corresponds to your character's skin color (a darker color means that the game will be more difficult). It doesn't affect combat, mainly gathering items and money.

First steps

Objects with golden handles or those that are in gold indicate that they are interactive. - Prologue | Main Missions Walkthrough - Main Missions Walkthrough - South Park: The Fractured But Whole Game Guide
Objects with golden handles or those that are in gold indicate that they are interactive.

The game starts in a toilet. Similar toilets are found in almost every house in the game in the same part of them (at the end of a corridor on a first floor). Each one of them is a mini-game during which you must press buttons that are displayed on the screen. They are connected to the Titles.

You can pick up items that can be useful in fights, crafting, are related to the plot. They are usually found in drawers and cabinets with golden handles but sometimes you can get them from destroyed objects (such as mailboxes on streets). Besides the buildings, many items are hidden behind other objects such as bushes - destroy them in order to be able to reach these items.

Combat

Go outside and head right. Hit the enemy that stands on your path. If you were the person that initiated a fight then you will be able to start first. In prologue, you are led by a tutorial but in the later parts of the game using your characters' abilities is a key to success.

Do as the NPCs say and enter the garage. There, you must destroy two cardboard boxes and move the blue ladder to get on a rooftop. Remember to press the action button (X/A) when you are sliding down the rooftop (otherwise, you will die).

The journal is behind the lamp near Cartman's bed.

Watch the cut-scenes, enter the house and go on the upper floor. The first room near the stairs belongs to Cartman. Approach the lamp near the bed, hit it and pick up a journal that was beneath it. Go through the entire journal. At the end of it you can find a password: 307. Go to the basement and speak with the Coon (Cartman). He orders you to bring him an item that is in the cardboard box near the left wall - from now on you can use Inspection Mode (L2/LT) to find items that you can pick up or interact with.

Selecting a class

In the beginning you can only select one out of the three available classes and the only difference between them are the abilities that you get. - Prologue | Main Missions Walkthrough - Main Missions Walkthrough - South Park: The Fractured But Whole Game Guide
In the beginning you can only select one out of the three available classes and the only difference between them are the abilities that you get.

Now, you have to make an important choice - you must choose a class for your character. Select one out of the three that are currently available. Each one of them offers different abilities that are used in combat. You can, at any point of the game, go back to Coon's basement and interact with the chair near the table to select a new class (without any negative consequences). After that you must complete a tutorial fight in which you learn your new moves. This means that you can test all classes before making a final choice.

The choice of a class isn't binding - you can change it as many times as you want. New classes are unlocked after completing a few story quests. You will also receive an option to combine two classes.
