While exploring the maps in Sniper Elite 5, you may come across safes - they can contain, among others, unique secrets, quest items or supplies. Our guide tells you how to open safes using explosives or the obtained combinations.
Method #1 - Opening a safe with an explosive
The first option is to blow up the safe door with the Satchel Charge. The important information in this case is that the explosion does not damage the contents of the safe. The only disadvantage of this method is that the explosion generates a lot of noise and can alert the guards in the area.
You can find explosives in many places during the missions, e.g. in armories, camps or trenches. They are also highlighted when using Focus ("scanning" mode).
After finding the explosive, you have to return to the safe and stand in the right place. The information about planting the explosive must appear (example in the picture).
After placing it and determining the explosion delay, move away to a safe distance and wait for the explosion.
Method #2 - Opening a safe with a combination
The second option is to get a combination for the safe. The advantage of this method is that using a password does not generate any noise - you just need to be careful not to get caught trying to break into it.
One of the enemies will have the code to the safe. The game will not mark this person. Use your binoculars to "scan" nearby enemies. When find an enemy with a safe combination, the game will display this information in the upper right corner of the screen (example in the picture). Karl should comment on that as well.
You have to eliminate the opponent who has the code and search his body. You should see a confirmation of obtaining the combination (example in the picture).
Note - Each code is unique. You have to find an opponent with a code matching the safe. There can be several different safes on one map, meaning you will have to obtain several different codes from different opponents.
If you have problems finding the right safe again, open the map. There should be a safe icon (example in the picture) with information about the combination you have obtained.
After returning to the safe, face the handle and use the code (example in the picture). The code will be entered automatically.
