On this page you will find a walkthrough for Shadow of the Tomb Raider prologue which takes place in Cozumel caves (the mission titled A Faint Light and a description of the less demanding stage in a Mexican town (the In the Shadows mission). These are the first locations visited in the game.

Prologue
You have to start by getting Lara out of the trap - just press the interaction button several times and hold the knob leaning up while your character moves towards the exit.
Once you have found yourself in a larger cavern, reach the climbing wall. Make a jump and press the interaction button to grab the wall with your pickaxe. While climbing, Lara will be in a hanging position for a while, but you can continue the crossing without any problems. To reach the top shelf, swing the knob up and press the jump button. Reach the illuminated pyramid-shaped structure and a longer cutscene will trigger. After that, Lara and Jonah will escape from the cavern.
The Mexican Town
Your adventure resumes in a Mexican town where you receive a Path of the Stars achievement. There are no opponents in the area and there is only one path to your destination. On the way, you can talk to some locals, but you won't get special rewards or side quests.
Reach the gate where several characters are talking. Lara will bypass the interlocutors by jumping over the side fence while Jonah will distract them. Continue your linear way that involves crossing a side alley to bypass mercenaries. As you approach the excavation site, a short cutscene will start.
