Skirmishes and unique places in The Iron Serpent

The most numerous group of opponents in this location is in the ruined railway station adjacent to the wreck of the train - The Iron Serpent | Mutant Year Zero Road to Eden World Atlas - World Atlas - Mutant Year Zero Road to Eden Guide

The most numerous group of opponents in this location is in the ruined railway station adjacent to the wreck of the train. As in the Izza and Fala location, the most problematic enemies are the Tank and the Shaman.

The wreck of a train can help you win the battle. You can set up your characters at the car exits (full cover) or, an even better idea, on the roof of the train. This second variant will leave the heroes more exposed, but Tank will be unable to reach them with his charge. Additionally, your subordinates will receive hit chance bonuses. In the case of the Tank you can once again try to control its mind in order to make him a temporary ally of the team. Don't forget to attack the shaman as soon as you can. Otherwise he can call for reinforcements and the first called group should consist of 2 Marauders and 1 Butcher.

Defeating enemies from the railway station will not solve the problem, because at the end of the railway track there is a group of dogs, including a stronger individual - Mother Zone Dog - The Iron Serpent | Mutant Year Zero Road to Eden World Atlas - World Atlas - Mutant Year Zero Road to Eden Guide

Defeating enemies from the railway station will not solve the problem, because at the end of the railway track there is a group of dogs, including a stronger individual - Mother Zone Dog. Mother of mutant dogs, just like shamans, is able to summon new mutants to help. In this case it leads to the appearance of three new dogs in the area.

Defeating Mother Zone Dog in the first turn is virtually impossible. Fighting dogs in the forest is very difficult, because the party will be quickly surrounded by mutants. Fortunately, you can take advantage of a trick, which will make it much easier to win this skirmish. Place two team members on the roof of the last car of the train - this is shown in the picture above. With the third hero, sneak in the direction of the dogs.

Get close enough to the dogs to be able to toggle the turn-based battle mode - The Iron Serpent | Mutant Year Zero Road to Eden World Atlas - World Atlas - Mutant Year Zero Road to Eden Guide

Get close enough to the dogs to be able to toggle the turn-based battle mode. Don't attack the animals right away, just start pulling back the third hero towards the train. Do not shoot until you are at the edge of the range of your weapon. After the dogs spot the party, have the third hero join the party on the roof of the train.

This technique is very effective, because mutant dogs have huge problems with reaching the roof of the car. While some of them may be able to jump on the roof, they'll use up both of their action points and will be unable to attack in the same turn. This will allow you to kill them easily during the party turn. Other than that, you can shoot dogs from the roof freely, using the fact that they don't have any ranged attacks.

After the second battle is won, don't forget to search the whole map, including the railway station where the previous battle took place. There is a chance to find a new weapon upgrade. In addition, you'll find two chests with unique treasures and a new collectible - a note.
