Crimewaves in LEGO the Incredibles are simple side-missions, which are present in every district (there are 10 in total) and are unlocked in linear order, after finishing the first one it's possible to start the subsequent mission, which appears on the map. It's best to do these after finishing the main storyline. Completing a Crimewave in a particular district unlocks the location of golden bricks, races, and Super builds, which can be erected in certain parts of the map, thus it's best to do complete them before you start exploring the area. In addition, completing these missions is required to see the 100% completion sign. Every Crimewave awards a Mystery Bag containing a playable hero, you also receive a golden brick.
