How heart fragments work?
You start the game with 3 hearts - you can see their number in the upper left corner of the screen. The number of hearts can be increased by acquiring heart fragments. When you get 4 heart quarters, you will unlock another heart slot. It is permanent and does not disappear when you e.g. change the map or die.
Shops
The heart fragments are the most valuable thing in the store. You can buy two heart quarters in each slot - each costs 500 coins. Obtaining them is really important, as they permanently increase your character's health.
Collectibles on the maps
You can also find heart fragments on the maps. They are hidden just like other collectibles and secrets; most often you will find them behind some moving elements or on distant dangerous platforms.
