Beginners in Diablo 2 Resurrected may not notice the what Thawing Potion is for. You'll find it in the first act as an infrequent low-value loot. They have the form of ampoules similar to the stamina potion, but with a brown liquid inside.

The defrosting potion is also available to buy from Akara. This elixir is used to eliminate cold and frost damage. You can consume it to free yourself from the effects of freezing, but also to increase your cold resistance statistics before the fight:

1. 50 points for cold resistance,
2. 10 points for maximum cold resistance,
3. Duration: 30 seconds.

In the early stages of the game you will not often encounter enemies using the cold, and if so, they are usually mini-bosses. For this reason, initially it is not worth to carry it always with you. Well, maybe one just in case. It will definitely come in handy for clashes with stronger opponents, like Act 2 boss - Duriel. There are, however, spells and auras (like the one used by Duriel), which the Thawing Potion will not eliminate, however, it will help reduce the damage and duration of the effects.
