All endings in Detroit Become Human Detroit Become Human guide, walkthrough

Last update: 02 July 2019

In this chapter we present the available ends of Detroit: Become Human. Only the options in which the plot of each character - Kara, Connor and Marcus - are brought to the last chapters (taking into account that, for example, Marcus may die, but his plot is taken over by North and the final outline of the world is changed). If you want to know which character can die prematurely and finish his story without affecting the final ending of the game, check out our FAQ section:

  1. How to prevent the death of Kara?
  2. How to prevent the death of Connor?
  3. How to prevent Marcus' death?

Good ending

The main element of a good ending is to bring peace between people and the androids. - All endings in Detroit Become Human - Walkthrough - Detroit Become Human Guide
The main element of a good ending is to bring peace between people and the androids.

In terms of a good ending (the best for each character), we consider the following:

  1. All the characters survived to the end of the game,
  2. The war ended with the withdrawal of people and the granting of rights to androids,
  3. Kara ended her story with Kara and Luther,
  4. Hank didn't commit suicide,
  5. Connor has become a defect,
  6. North and Marcus are lovers.

In order for all the above assumptions to be met, it's necessary to:

  1. To bring to an end the storyline of every character, without leading to their death. For further guidance on this point, please refer to the FAQ sections.
  2. Connor becomes a defect - you have to be as empathetic as possible and show human reactions in dialogues (mainly with Hank) and not to kill any defects (Chloe in the Meeting with Kamski chapter and Traci in the Eden Club chapter). The final decision on whether to become a defect or not he makes as a choice in the chapter Crossroads.
  3. Connor has a good relationship with Hank: this leads both to the above solution and to the prevention of suicide by the detective. Hank's reputation is greatly affected by: saving him in The Nest chapter (at the end of a successful pursuit), a positive interrogation of the defect in The Interrogation chapter, saving Hank in the chapter by shooting the defect from the kitchen in the Public Enemy chapter.
  4. In order not to be pulled off from the case, Connor must, on the one hand, become a defect and, on the other hand, not disappoint Amanda's trust. Therefore, you should successfully complete as many tasks as possible, in accordance with the guidelines, e.g. find a defect in the chapter Partners or in The Nest.
  5. In the Stratford Tower section, Marcus doesn't kill anybody (guards and an escaping operator) and gives a calm speech.
  6. Marcus in the chapter Capitol Park conducts a peaceful demonstration and fights the police in the chapter Freedom March (and doesn't die) at the end of the chapter.
  7. Marcus can have a good relationship with North to start a romance with her. For details, please refer to the FAQ.
  8. In the Battle for Detroit chapter, Marcus continues his peace efforts and doesn't accept a settlement from the FBI's agent.
  9. Kara escapes from the Zlatko's estate together with Luther (it depends on only one dialogue option, in which you agree to join the two heroes). In addition, she doesn't allow him to perish in the Midnight Train (only if found by a policeman), the Crossroads and the Battle for Detroit.
  10. Kara has good relations with Alice (built up by the whole story with small dialogues or additional activities. It is easy to destroy the trust quite strongly in the mission Fugitives, if you decide to steal the shop/laundry).
  11. Kara wasn't caught by the police in the chapter Crossroads and she crossed the border in the chapter Battle of Detroit (by boat - without Luther - or by bus).

Bad ending

One of the scenes of bad ending is the fight between Connor and Marcus. - All endings in Detroit Become Human - Walkthrough - Detroit Become Human Guide
One of the scenes of bad ending is the fight between Connor and Marcus.

In the case of a bad ending, which is much easier to achieve, many factors can be distinguished. Within the meaning of this guide, we assume that:

  1. Marcus has led aggressive actions against people,
  2. Optional: North takes over the role of Marcus after his death in the Freedom March chapter (this is a smaller end),
  3. Kara didn't end her story - as she almost episodically appears in the outline of the game world, her choices mainly affect the end of the story of Kara, Alice and Luther. Story may come to an end even in the first chapter.
  4. Hank committed suicide,
  5. Connor hasn't become a defect,

In order for all the above assumptions to be fulfilled, it is necessary:

  1. To have the strongest possible impact on the development of events in the final phase of the game (chapter Battle for Detroit), Marcus and Connor should survive until the very end.
  2. Connor doesn't become a defect - he makes the final decision about whether to become a defect as a choice in the chapter Crossroads. To remain an android, you don't need to take any special action about Connor's behavior.
  3. Connor has bad relations with Hank (he is hostile to Connor). This will lead to a cutscene where Hank commits suicide.
  4. In order not to be pulled off the case, Connor must, on the one hand, become a defect and, on the other hand, not disappoint Amanda's trust. Therefore, you should successfully complete as many tasks as possible in accordance with the guidelines, e.g. find a defect in the chapter Partners or in The Nest. If he is removed from the matter, you won't see him in the last chapter.
  5. Connor - if he is not removed from the case, he can kill the rebel leader in the last chapter.
  6. Marcus in the Stratford Tower chapter kills at least one individual (guard/extending operator) and leads a determined speech.
  7. Marcus in the chapter Capitol Park conducts an aggressive demonstration and fights against the police, defeating the unit, optionally dies (minor end),
  8. Kara can end her story many times. For details, refer to the FAQ section.
