Armour Spider is a giant spider that slows the player down with its web and burns the entire arena with its most dangerous attack. In addition, it's good in long-distance combat, as well as in close combat.
General advice
- The Boss can't move freely. It stays in one place. This is a great opportunity to fight the boss at a distance, using magic or a bow/crossbow.
- Arena, although long and narrow, can be an advantage in the fight against the Armour Spider. Its ranged attacks can be easily blocked if you are well-positioned in the arena.
- The web the boss spits out restricts your movements. You have to be careful not to get hit because you won't be able to dodge, and for a while, you will be vulnerable to its attacks.
- Armour Spider can use its most dangerous attack, which puts the entire arena on fire. When you see how the black liquid comes out of it and hits the ground, immediately run to the very beginning of the arena, into the fog, to avoid major fire damage. After a while, the liquid will turn into a fire wave.
- The boss attacks mainly with fire attacks if you are far. However, watch out for an attack when it shoots a spike from its back. This attack is quick and hard to avoid, but it does not take much health.
- When you get close to the spider, let it attack, and when it misses, only then attack it. The most dangerous short-range attack is the one using legs. When the spider crosses them, quickly step back.
- Armour Spider has a high resistance to fire damage. Therefore, if you are going to attack it with fire, that isn't going to work. You will deal much more damage with normal attacks or magic.
How to defeat the boss in close combat?
Close combat with the boss is a much faster way to defeat it, but also more dangerous. At the very beginning, you should approach the boss as soon as possible, avoiding its ranged attacks. Then, once you're close to it, let it attack first. When it does, make 2-3 attacks and back off for a while. It is worth repeating this steps.
When you see a black liquid on the floor, run to the very beginning of the arena. If you do not, the arena will be covered with fire, and you will receive heavy damage. It is advisable to have armor and a shield with a high defense against fire damage.
Attack primarily the front of the spider. Don't think about encircling it - it's impossible. When you are unable to evade its attack, block it with a shield. You will still receive damage, but much less. Retreat when the boss crosses its legs because this attack is one of the most dangerous for a short distance.
How to defeat the boss at a long range?
Fighting the Armour Spider from a distance is much safer, but it can also be longer if you don't deal high magic damage or have an improved bow/crossbow. It is worth equipping Thief's ring for this fight - then the boss may even stop attacking you because it will not detect you.
Most of his fire attacks won't reach you if you stay close to the walls.. Therefore, if you want to attack it with magic or ranged weapons, stand against the wall to avoid his attacks. When you see that the boss attacks with its abdomen, it will shoot a spike that can hit you even if you are close to the wall. Dodge and start shooting at it.
If you want to defeat the boss only using arrows or magic, take the appropriate number of arrows or mana-regenerating items. About 80-100 shot should be enough to defeat it.
