You can set up and pick up traps as you wish. The only limitation is that you are able to carry only two with you. You need to plan where you leave them wisely, so that you don't waste time looking for a trap you can pick up.

As for Trapper's perks, they aren't the best. On their own, they will add little to the gameplay, but in the right builds, they can make life for survivors very difficult.

How to play as Trapper?

When playing as Trapper, one must first and foremost lead the chase properly and focus hard on the endgame phase. No survivor will stay in a particular location if you set up a trap there before their eyes. At the beginning of the game, focus on setting up traps in strategic places where pursuit is sure to take place, such as the killer's hut or the main building. This way you will increase the chance of someone falling into your trap.

Also, don't forget that your traps have a dark color meaning you can hide them in the bushes. Therefore, using the nearby vegetation is a good option.

In the later phase of the game, you can move the traps to the generators that require fixing. In this case, it is best to make use of the surrounding structures - especially at the pallets and jump sites.

The most aggressive form of Trapper gameplay, however, is the basement tactic. In this case, it is essential to have it in the killer's hut. When this happens, you have to knock down a survivor near the basement area and carry them to that place. Then you have to trap all the entrances to hut. By doing so, you will prevent the smooth escape of survivors from the building.

Exemplary build

When it comes to playing as Trapper, it's a good idea to limit your field of operation. This killer is very weak if the game is played on a large map.

Corrupt Intervention - Dead by Daylight: Trapper - perks, power - Hunters - Dead by Daylight Guide

Corrupt Intervention

At the beginning of the game, the three generators furthest from the killer are blocked for 80/100/120 seconds.

The perk deactivates when the first survivor is in the agony state.

No Way Out

You get 1 token for each survivor you hang on a hook for the first time.

The perk activates when the exit gates are powered.

When a survivor interacts with the exit gate switch, you receive a notification and the Entity blocks both exits for 12 seconds and another 6/9/12 seconds for each token held, up to a total maximum of 36/48/60 seconds.

Save the Best for Last - Dead by Daylight: Trapper - perks, power - Hunters - Dead by Daylight Guide

Save the Best for Last

Each time you hit someone other than the obsession with a basic attack, you get 1 token, up to a maximum of 8 tokens:

  1. For each token, you get a 5% cooldown reduction on successful attacks (up to a maximum of 40%).
  2. Every time you attack your obsession with a basic attack you lose 4/3/2 tokens.

Once the obsession is sacrificed, you can neither gain nor lose any tokens.

Pop Goes the Weasel - Dead by Daylight: Trapper - perks, power - Hunters - Dead by Daylight Guide

Pop Goes the Weasel

When you hang a survivor on a hook, the perk will activate for 35/40/45 seconds. The first generator you kick during this time will regress by 20% of its current progress.

This build allows you to limit what the survivors can do in the initial phase of the game. In this way, the survivors will be more concentrated in one place. It will be easier for you to chase them to your traps.

You can also delay their escape and buy yourself more time. In the final phase of the game, survivors are often less attentive. So the chance of them falling into one of the traps is increased.
