What should I do if my javelin is targeted in Anthem? Anthem Guide and Walkthrough

Flying in Anthem opens a variety of ways of eliminating enemies, but it also renders your character more vulnerable to different attacks. In this section of the guide, we give some advice about how you should react, when the javelin in locked-in by enemies.

The javelin you control cannot be locked-in on by every enemy you meet. Only the defense turrets and enemies using fire-and-forget missiles can lock in on you.

You will receive a warning when you are still being traced, as well as when the enemy locks in (example in the image). If you haven't been locked in on yet, you should perform a sharp evasive maneuver or take cover behind something solid.

If you have been locked in on, you will have to evade the missiles fired towards you. If you fail to do so, you will be hit and may even lose all your shields.

In order to avoid the missile, you have to dodge in flight. You can simultaneously press one of the side-direction keys (or push the left analog stick left or right) and the dodge key. Completing this maneuver isn't very difficult, provided you don't do it too late (no more than 2 seconds ideally).
