In Anno 1800 scenarios can be customized to your preferences. The following section of this our guide contains a list of options that you can configure before you start your adventure in the game.
Once you have selected whether you want to play a campaign or a sandbox, the game will allow you to select the following items described below.
Portrait, logo and tutorials
You can choose whether you want the game to tell you some things or whether you want to play without any tips. The choice can then be changed in the options.
The next decision is purely cosmetic - you can choose a portrait of your character and then the logo, which will be your symbol in the game.
Difficulty level
In the game you can choose between normal, advanced and expert levels. This translates into:
- Start-up capital,
- The size of the world and the islands around you,
- Number of natural resources,
- Soil quality for cultivation,
- Will the removed buildings be refunded?
- Cost of relocation of buildings.
Advanced options
In addition to the basic difficulty level, we can run advanced options, which will allow you to customize virtually every aspect of the gameplay according to your preferences. You can choose your rivals, AI difficulty level, traffickers, incidents in the city, frequency of tasks, etc. You can even specify whether you want to start with ships, explored map or select general map type.
All these options will allow you to return to Anno 1800 many times and enjoy the new gameplay rules.
