Summary

The Abbasid's unique system revolves around the House of Wisdom Landmark which must be constantly expanded to help the civilization develop. Each time you expand the Landmark you gain an additional benefit and access to new technologies. By building more structures in the Landmark's range the Abbasid Dynasty gets closer to advancing to the next tier of their Golden Age, which rewards them with increased resource gain, shortens their research time and accelerates production.

To successfully use the Abbasid Dynasty you must constantly conduct research in their Landmark and their resource-gathering buildings. To hold this much research you'll need a lot of gold and a reliable supply chain of food, wood and stone.

Setting up trade routes is the best way of building a strong economy. By upgrading the House of Wisdom your Traders can gain additional Gold bonuses or even bring in selected resources.

Two of the units which can give you an advantage over the enemy are camel riders and camel archers. They specialize in fighting cavalry and are good at supporting your infantry. Their increased mobility makes them ideal for flanking or luring enemies into traps.

The Abbasid Dynasty also gains access to siege machines early and their infantry can build machines without any research required. This allows them to harass enemy cities early on.

To play this civilization you must exploit every single one of your advantages as soon as you can. The Abbasid Dynasty shouldn't expand much, as most of their buildings should stand around their only Landmark. Build solid fortifications to protect your villagers and trade routes against the enemies.
