In these two locations, and one more located south of your base, you'll have to block enemy forces. The one enemy that cannot be allowed to reach the edge of the map is the Templar. He'll use invisibility to try to escape. Remember to place Overlords over the canyons and use Nydus canals to move your forces swiftly.
You can claim this spot quickly, but assemble a group of Zerglings and Hydralisks first. The enemy has a few ground and aerial units, as well as a turret. You should focus on exploiting the resource deposits in this area as soon as you can.
You can get to the plateau using the road from your base or by going through the canyon. Not only will you gain additional resources, but also a good position to attack the Protoss base. You can build some turrets here, which will attack the enemies passing below.
This side of the base has neither turrets nor large enemy numbers. Use a hefty amount of Zerg to quickly destroy the buildings on this side and retreat immediately. The enemy will bring in additional forces and Reavers. Respond with your flying units to deal with enemy reinforcements from a distance.
Once you deal with enemy reinforcements, enter the base and wipe out the remaining defenders and enemy structures. It is important that you build your own base on the ruins of this one. In addition to extra resources, you'll be able to expand your defensive lines. Remember to put up some additional turrets.
Instead of attacking the enemy base directly, you can use your turrets to slowly erase the enemy. Another method requires you to use Guardians, which will slowly but inevitably destroy enemy units and structures. Begin with the Nexus and workers, then other units and Pylons.
The base is surrounded by turrets and defended by numerous ground and air forces. Additionally, the Templars will take part in the battle, summoning powerful Psi Storms that damage all units in a designated area. One Psi Storm is enough to deal a heavy blow to your Zergs. Attack them first whenever you can, and prepare some Overlords to detect them.
If it's possible, send your flying units to the center of enemy base to take out this structure first. This will prevent your enemy from training any more Templars, which, in turn, will make it impossible for you to lose the mission. The enemy Nexus is right beside the Archives, and should be dealt with next.

Last update: 22 August 2017

Canyons In these two locations, and one more located south of your base, you'll have to block enemy forces. The one enemy that cannot be allowed to reach the edge of the map is the Templar. He'll use invisibility to try to escape. Remember to place Overlords over the canyons and use Nydus canals to move your forces swiftly.

Expansion space - northern site You can claim this spot quickly, but assemble a group of Zerglings and Hydralisks first. The enemy has a few ground and aerial units, as well as a turret. You should focus on exploiting the resource deposits in this area as soon as you can.

Expansion space - southeastern site You can get to the plateau using the road from your base or by going through the canyon. Not only will you gain additional resources, but also a good position to attack the Protoss base. You can build some turrets here, which will attack the enemies passing below.

Western Protoss Base - right flank This side of the base has neither turrets nor large enemy numbers. Use a hefty amount of Zerg to quickly destroy the buildings on this side and retreat immediately. The enemy will bring in additional forces and Reavers. Respond with your flying units to deal with enemy reinforcements from a distance.

Western Protoss Base Once you deal with enemy reinforcements, enter the base and wipe out the remaining defenders and enemy structures. It is important that you build your own base on the ruins of this one. In addition to extra resources, you'll be able to expand your defensive lines. Remember to put up some additional turrets.

Eastern Protoss Base - the hill over the mineral deposit Instead of attacking the enemy base directly, you can use your turrets to slowly erase the enemy. Another method requires you to use Guardians, which will slowly but inevitably destroy enemy units and structures. Begin with the Nexus and workers, then other units and Pylons.

Main Protoss Base The base is surrounded by turrets and defended by numerous ground and air forces. Additionally, the Templars will take part in the battle, summoning powerful Psi Storms that damage all units in a designated area. One Psi Storm is enough to deal a heavy blow to your Zergs. Attack them first whenever you can, and prepare some Overlords to detect them.

Templar Archives If it's possible, send your flying units to the center of enemy base to take out this structure first. This will prevent your enemy from training any more Templars, which, in turn, will make it impossible for you to lose the mission. The enemy Nexus is right beside the Archives, and should be dealt with next.

Mission objectives:

  1. Destroy the protoss bases;
  2. Let no Dark Templar escape;
  3. Kerrigan must survive.

Your commander informs you about the protoss, namely Zeratul. When he killed Zasz, the Overmind discovered some of his secrets as well as the location of the protoss home planet, Aiur. First, you have to destroy the Dark Templars who can greatly harm the Zerg Swarm.

It is one of the most difficult zerg missions. Not because of the enemy's numbers but their advanced units. You have to defend 3 location at the same time, each being a Templar evacuation path. If even one gets away, the mission is failed. You need to keep Overlords in these places. They are the only units that can Detect invisible enemies, including Templars and Observers (an invisible flyer and a Detector). There is a new building at your disposal: a Nydus Network. It serves as a kind of a teleport. Having constructed such a building, you choose this structure and erect another one anywhere on the Creep. Thanks to this, you can quickly deploy your units to different places on the map. From this mission on, you can train Ultralisks, which are "improved" Zerglings.

A small protoss unit guards a minderla na gas deposit in the north. Its a good idea to take over this place quicly and establish an extraction facility. - Mission 8 - Eye for an Eye| Zerg | Campaign Walkthrough - Zerg - StarCraft: Remastered Game Guide
A small protoss unit guards a minderla na gas deposit in the north. It's a good idea to take over this place quicly and establish an extraction facility.

Start from expanding your base and building basic technology build at the same time to enable the training of Zerglings and Hydralisks. It's enough to have 1-2 Overlords, 6 Hydralisks and Zerglings in each location (1). Such a garrison should be enough for most of the time. There are two extra spots for expansion in the map - the northern one can be taken over in the first few minutes of the game (2,3). It is guarded by two Dragoons and Scouts as well as a Turret. At the moment, you need the Vespene gas for producing advanced units rather than minerals. In this mission, you will be relying on air force again. However, at some points, you will need two teams of Zerglings and Hydralisks.

Having expanded the base, start training an assault team. There are two forward protoss facilities ahead of you, the one in the east has a Nexus and more production buildings, while the western one has the structures for flyer creation. The main enemy base in the bottom left corner of the map (Blue) is the Templar headquarters. You can gradually destroy the protoss and take care of the Templars as the last or reverse this order.

Attack the base on the western coast from the undefended right side. Focus on the production buildings and watch out for hostile counterattack. - Mission 8 - Eye for an Eye| Zerg | Campaign Walkthrough - Zerg - StarCraft: Remastered Game Guide
Attack the base on the western coast from the undefended right side. Focus on the production buildings and watch out for hostile counterattack.

Prepare 2-3 teams of Zerlings and 1 squad of Hydralisks for the assault on the first line of defense. If you have the time and a lot of materials, create an extra group of Ultralisks. Deploy these units through the Nydus Network to the western side and circle the base so that you can attack it from the right side (4). There are no Turrets there, just several structures and one production building. You need to act fast before the enemy sends reinforcements from the main base. Most of the time, these include fighters from the entire map as well as Dragoon and Reaver landings. Having destroyed the base, build you extraction facility in this place and erect Turrets around it (5). Now, the time has come for the second base (6). First, take over the poorly defended space between the base and the lower Nydus Network. Once you've built a base, place Sunken Colonies along the upper part of the cliff, right above the minerals that are within the enemy base's range. Have several Guardians attack the Nexus from this spot. Also, have infantry and Mutalisks around in case of an hostile counteroffensive. When the headquarters is destroyed, deal with the hostile barracks and then kill workers and Reavers. Now, bring your Zerglings to finish the enemy off.

Special Templar attacks can be deadly to your armies. Eliminate the Dark Templars first. - Mission 8 - Eye for an Eye| Zerg | Campaign Walkthrough - Zerg - StarCraft: Remastered Game Guide
Special Templar attacks can be deadly to your armies. Eliminate the Dark Templars first.

Attacking the main Templar base is more difficult (7,8). Not only is there a lot of Dragoons and Reaver, but the Templars themselves are the biggest threat. They often attack groups with their psionic attack, and if you let them develop, they'll start creating powerful Archons. 12 Mutalisks and the same amount of Guardians should be enough to deal with the Turrets and Dragoons. However, if you see lightning, quickly change position. Templars can destroy an entire squad with their special ability. Queen with a full energy bar can use Spawn Broodling and Templars and Archons to instantly kill them so it's a good idea to have a small team of them with the rest of your air force. Don't spare the enemy transporters. The protoss often take Templars on board and try to sneak past your defense lines.

A group of Mutalisks should easily fly into the enemy base in the bottom left corner of the map and destroy the Archive first. Without this building, the Blue protoss cant recruit Templars. Then, destroy the Nexus and the rest of the base. - Mission 8 - Eye for an Eye| Zerg | Campaign Walkthrough - Zerg - StarCraft: Remastered Game Guide
A group of Mutalisks should easily fly into the enemy base in the bottom left corner of the map and destroy the Archive first. Without this building, the Blue protoss can't recruit Templars. Then, destroy the Nexus and the rest of the base.

Alternatively, you can first target the Templar base. This method requires longer preparation phase but makes the mission easier. You won't have to worry about a Templar getting away. Gather two teams of Mutalisks in the center of the map. Both protoss armies use only Scouts, and only a few of them. Fly up to the Blue base and destroy two Turrets on their outer line. At this point, all Dragoons and Scouts will converge here. Having repelled their attack, fly into the base and find the Nexus. Below, there is the Archive. Without it, the enemy cannot train new Templars so make it your first target. Now, destroy the Nexus and production buildings and then the remainder of Pylons and Turrets. Go back to the base, regroup your army and attack the remaining two enemy bases. After destroying all hostile buildings and units, the mission will end.
