Units are one of the currencies available in No Man's Sky. In our guide, we have described a few ways to quickly get units and how to earn money by trading valuable elements such as ionised cobalt and chlorine.

Shipwrecks

During the game's main storyline, you will come across a crashed ship. After interacting with it, you can add the broken machine to your collection.

All components and modules of this ship will be destroyed. Just fix a few things:

1. Pulse Engine,
2. Launch Thruster,
3. Shields.

Then go to the nearest space station and dismantle the ship. Sell the modules obtained from the ship to the appropriate module merchant (you can find him in Anomaly). You can sell the rest of the stuff at any space station or sell point. Thanks to this, you will earn several million units at the beginning of the game.

Larval Core

When you reach the next planet in search of antimatter, you will come across an abandoned building with several precious eggs next to it. Try to extract all the Larval Cores and watch out for the creatures attacking you.

The price of one egg should be more than 50 thousand units. This is another way to earn a lot of currency early in the game.

Selling and buying valuable elements

Once you have accumulated a large amount of cash, you will be able to invest it in some valuable elements, duplicate them in a special machine and sell them at a great profit. The method described below is for buying and selling cobalt, but you can trade other highly valuable ores in the same way.

1. First, you have to get a large amount of the element. You can try to find it on a planet or buy it from NPCs or in the terminal at the nearest space station. Then convert the cobalt to ionised cobalt in the Portable Refiner.

1. Purchase the Medium Refiner from the technology modules merchant in the Anomaly station. Go back to your base and build a minimum of 3 or 4 refiners.
2. Go to a space station or trading post on any planet and buy plenty of oxygen. This element is available in the terminal. Wait for the NPCs to start arriving, each of them should have a large supply of oxygen for sale.

1. Go back to your base and divide the accumulated cobalt and oxygen into as many parts as your refinators. To do this, go to your inventory, select the item you want to divide and press the appropriate button. The selected element will be divided into two equal parts.

1. Medium refinator can turn 2 pieces of oxygen and 1 piece of ionised cobalt into 6 pieces of ionised cobalt. Load all refinators and start copying the item. While the machines are running, go to the space station and buy as much oxygen as possible. Go back to base and reload the refinators with oxygen and ionised cobalt. Keep doing that until you have accumulated a large amount of the element.
2. Look for a system that sells ionised cobalt. This way, you will be able to sell your resources and buy them back at a low cost right away.

1. The buying price for ionised cobalt in the system we found was -1.3% of the normal price. When we sold all our resources (almost 60,000 units), its buyback price dropped to -59%. This means that we could buy it back for more than half as much. Thanks to this, we can now find another system trading this element and repeat the process.

Remember that the price of an element will only drop if you sell a lot of it. Save your game before selling and buying.
