This page of the guide to Mr. Prepper has information on how to develop your character's stats. This is not mandatory, but it greatly facilitates and speeds up the character's actions.

Mr. Prepper has many abilities that he can acquire. However, they do not give you new actions, only improve the actions by affecting their effectiveness and execution time. There is a total of 11 development fields.

To unlock new character upgrades, you must purchase books. These can be purchased from different merchants. They will only become available when you gain higher levels of merchants' trust – you can increase it by making transactions with them. The average price of a book is about $100. The price increases for the next upgrade levels. Some skills can be upgraded to level 3, and some only have one level.

You can get most of the books from Bob at the Mine. New ones will appear every time you gain a new trust level. You can buy cookbooks at the store.
