Character classes
There are no specified character classes in Undecember. The player decides what hero/heroine they want to play as, adjusting the character's skills and statistics to their play style. However, if you expect an easy start, it should be noted that the first few hours of the game seem to be more challenging for melee-oriented characters. Over time, these proportions even out as more skills are available (with a special mention for Whirlwind, which is very useful for warriors). The beginning, however, may be difficult for you.
Your skills (and thus the "character class") depend on your runes - Skill and Link runes. We talk about them here: Runes - what are they?.
The skills themselves, however, will not do much without the appropriate statistics. There are 3 of them - dexterity, intelligence and strength. Of course, investing points in all of them is not wise, but to have a balanced build, you will have to increase 2 of them. If you want to know more about it, check out: Builds - which are the best?.
Of course, it's safe to say that if you want to play as a warrior, you should invest in strength. In the case of a mage, intelligence will be the most important, while the archer must rely on dexterity. Nothing, however, prevents you from combining these classes to some extent.
Zodiac
By pressing the Z key (no default shortcut on the controller), you will open the Zodiac menu. There you can strengthen your character. As your levels increase, you will receive Stat points and Trait points. The former allow you to improve your stats (strength, intelligence and dexterity). The latter will help you develop the Zodiacs.
There are many Zodiacs and each of them has levels. To be able to develop traits at a higher level, you need to spend a few Trait points on the previous one.
Constellations have separate bonus trees. As a rule, each one fits a different build - mage, archer and warrior. So you should develop those that are useful to you.
You can reset allocated Stat and Traits points. It is free at the beginning of the game. After that, you will have to pay with gold.
