In the Overworld (map above) you begin your adventure with Tunic . However, this is not only a starting location, but also a place to which you will return in the later stages of the game, even closer to the end of the game. At the very beginning, you can only move around a part of it, because you start the game without a sword that allows you to cut bushes blocking the way (if you want to quickly find a weapon, please visit the page: Sword - how to find? Among the more important items you will find here is a stick (starting weapon with low damage) and treasure chests.

The Overworld is also the only such location in the game from which you can get to all other main locations without having to use fast travel. To the south you will find paths to The Ruined Atoll and The Swamp - Old Burying Ground - although this location is only unlocked at the end of the game. In turn, going east, you will find the East Forest and the Fortress of the Eastern Vault . The passage to the northwest will allow you to reach The Quarry , and on the left you will find the West Garden .

You will also find a number of smaller locations in the form of temples, tombs and dungeons. Straight from the starting point of the game you will find the gates of The Sealed Temple . They can be opened only after ringing the bells located successively in the East Forest and the West Garden. In the center of the Overworld, there is a mill where you can buy items. Right behind the mill, you will notice a Flooded Well , in which you will find a Lantern and a hidden passage to the Dark Tomb . This, in turn, will serve as a tunnel to the West Garden. You can see maps of both of these microlocations above.

Overlord is also teeming with all sorts of secrets. In the north you will find a passage to the mysterious microlocation of the Mountain Door , which allows you to initiate a True Ending, fairies and a door with paths. In the Overworld you will face basic, mostly simple opponents. Here you will find all varieties of Rudelings , Envoys , Tentacle-less Slorms , Phrends , Autobolts and no-named white creatures that shoot magical projectiles from time to time. You will not fight any bosses in this location.
