Fractions serve an important role in Tropico 6. Each citizes has unique political views. If your policy will be compatible with these views, he will be fonder of you. You must control your relations with various factions. In this chapter, you will find a description of all groups available in the game.
General information
Factions have specific doctrine that determines their views. Their happiness increase if you make actions that are compatible with their views. Strength of one's political views determine how strong factions' relations impact that person. In Tropico 6, there are three levels of loyalty to a faction - from mediocre to absolute loyalty.
Information about relations with specific factions [1] can be found in the Politics tab in the Almanac. Here you will find a detailed description of each faction with number of its members [2] and modifiers [3] that impact current support level. Here you will also learn how strong is the support for you among the citizens that belong to the faction [4].
Of course, views of various factions frequently don't line with each other. There are conflicts between them frequently. Because of that, you might receive a task in which you can choose a side and complete a favor for it.

Below you will find a list of all factions you will encounter during the game. You will also find information about how the faction can impact your ruling.

 | The Crown | Only colonial era | People who belong to this faction will support you if you maintain good relations with the Crown. |
 | Revolutionaries | Only colonial era | The revolutionaries will be happy if you develop education on the island and you will work against the Crown. |
 | Communists | Since world wars | They will support all actions that focus on improving the welfare of all citizens, no matter what is their richness level. |
 | Capitalists | Since world wars | This group will support you while your actions are focused on maximizing profits no matter the costs. |
 | Religious | Since world wars | This faction likes actions that promote modest and conservative way of life. They will protest against liberal laws. |
 | Militarists | Since world wars | They will be happy if you will expand your army and tools of terror. They don't care about personal freedom, education or pollution. |
 | Environmentalists | Since Cold War | This group will be happy if you limit exploitation of natural resources and you will keep pollution on low level. |
 | Industrialists | Since Cold War | The opposite of environmentalists. They will be happy if you invest in factories and education. The environment doesn't matter to them. |
 | Intellectuals | Since modern times | This group is happy when you focus on open politics, invest into modern technologies and abandon traditional values. |
 | Conservatives | Since modern times | This faction will support you if you limit technological progress and minimize the income of immigrants to the island. |
