Cynane.

The basic commander. She specializes in archer units. She has very simple and uninteresting skills that regenerate slowly.

  1. Rapid advance (Tier 1)

Increases speed of any unit type for 10 seconds. Might be useful for relocation or escape. Cooldown: 60s.

  1. Hunt (Tier 3)

Archers, slingers and cavalry can mark any target and follow it for 40 seconds, even once it disappears behind a fog of war. Cooldown: 80s.

  1. Barrage (Tier 5)

For three seconds the barrage is speed up. It deals less damage for an armored opponent. Works only for archers. Cooldown: 80s.

Leonidas

Leonidas.

A specialist when it comes to leading Pikemen (and not necessarily Hoplites). All useful skills are dedicated to these two units. For this commander it is recommended to use one type of units.

  1. Shield bash (Tier 1)

The skill enables you to deal one additional shield attack during melee combat (the more units have contact with the enemy, the more hits will be dealt). It deals mediocre high damage. Cooldown: 40s.

  1. Fight in the shade (Tier 3)

Orders the units to raise their shields above their heads. This increases chances to repel enemy ranged projectiles. It also reduces speed, the range of sight and defense chances in melee combat. Cooldown: 15s. Hoplites (not all tiers) have this skill by default.

  1. Hold the line (Tier 5)

Pikemen in the phalanx formation are getting tired 2x slower and they deal more damage. The effect works on allied units as well. You can activate it while not in a formation or even while in combat. The ability additionally increases morale, so it is also useful for Hoplites. Cooldown: 70s.

Miltiades

Miltiades.

With this general, you can lead Hoplites / Pikemen to combat. He will also enable you to effectively mix your armies with archers or cavalry.

  1. Infantry charge (Tier 1)

Charge attack effective against units with spears; it lasts 4s. Cooldown: 35s.

  1. Break ranks (Tier 3)

A type of formation in which you deal more damage and move faster (works for archers and spearmen). During it, you are vulnerable to melee attacks and enemy's charge. Use it while you change position and chase escaping troops, but don't forget to deactivate it if the enemy wants to fight you in melee combat. Cooldown: 15s.

  1. Fear (Tier 5)

A very good skill. Throw an aura on a nearby enemy to reduce his melee combat effectiveness, reduce movement speed and morale. A low active time/recharge time ratio enables you to activate it frequently (How long it is active: 22s). Cooldown: 60s.

Alexander the Great

The only cavalry specialist. He can also lead Pikemen.

  1. Hammer (Tier 1)

Charge attack for cavalry and melee fighting units; it lasts 4 seconds. Cooldown: 45s.

  1. Anvil (Tier 3)

This ability makes it impossible for the enemy to leave the battle by reducing his speed by 80%. Additionally, it reduces defense of melee fighting units. It lasts 10 seconds. Cooldown: 100s.

  1. Wedge (Tier 5)

A special formation that enables you to perform stronger and faster charge attacks. Don't let the enemies lure you into direct combat - your defense is weaker in this formation. Cooldown: 30s.
