In Stray , the default user interface is already very minimal. The map, the mission objective indicator, or the cat's health bar are not displayed on the screen as you play through the game. However, some players may want to take even more radical measures.

There are 3 HUD-related options in the Gameplay tab:

  1. Show Reticule - disabled by default. After activating it, a small dot will appear in the center of the screen.
  2. Show HUD - enabled by default. You can get rid of the HUD completely.
  3. Show Jump Prompt - enabled by default. The game displays a jump button icon next to the ledges you can jump onto.

We recommend that you stay on the default settings - the HUD is not intrusive, but remains practical.

  1. Turning off the jump prompt may increase the risk that you will miss a secret location because the jump icon will not appear on those while exploring the world.
  2. Turning off the HUD may increase the risk of missing interactions, such as using devices, talking to robots or picking up various items.

When playing with the interface completely disabled, you have to blindly test jumps and interactions in many cases. This is not a good method if you want to explore each location in 100%.
