Console Edition of Stellaris Stellaris guide, tips

Last update: 14 March 2019

This page contains information regarding unique aspects of Console Edition of Stellaris. All of the basic mechanics of the game are identical when compared with the PC version. You can use the information found in our guide to learn more.

1 - Console Edition of Stellaris - Basics - Stellaris Guide
  1. The console edition of Stellaris has been released on 26 February, 2019. The title was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Currently, there aren't any plans for a Nintendo Switch release.
  2. The console edition is based on 1.7 version of Stellaris, one of the updates from 2017. This means that the owners of the console version do not have access to upgrades and updates present in PC version 2.0. The authors promise further updates for the game, which should receive the same patches as the PC version. There is low probability that all versions of Stellaris will have the same updates when it comes to content and update dates. It is more probable that further patches for console version will be delayed compared to the PC version.
  3. Console version of Stellaris has two editions - standard and deluxe. The deluxe version contains one of the smaller expansions (Planetoids Species Pack) and two large expansions (Leviathans Story Pack and Utopia Expansion). When the game was released, both expansions could not be obtained separately, but this may change later.
  4. The initial version of Stellaris Console Edition does not offer the expansions released later (Synthetic Dawn, Apocalypse, Distant Stars, and MegaCorp). These expansions should be released with further updates for the game.
  5. Controls of console version of Stellaris were prepared from scratch and dedicated to a gamepad. Sending orders shouldn't cause problems, but reaching one of the more advanced options may be more problematic than in the case of the PC version.
  6. Stellaris Console Edition offer a different set of achievements than the PC version. There are much less of them - 28 on Xbox One and 29 on PlayStation 4. In both PC and console versions, achievements can only be unlocked in Ironman mode, which disables the ability to save manually. Beginning a campaign without this setting blocks access to achievements.
