This page of the Returnal guide tells you how to walk safely on red ground. This is an environmental danger that appears in the further biomes. We explain how to get the device that will protect Selene from losing the energy points of the suit and will prevent her death.
Basic information
Locations with red ground we will begin to appear starting from the 2. biome, i.e. Crimson Wastes. Touching the red ground drains the integrity bar, i.e. you're losing energy points of the suit.
In some locations, touching red ground is required in order to advance. Fortunately, this applies only to optional locations and will not stop us from getting through the biomes.
There are also places where you can avoid touching red ground - you can jump onto small shelves over the "lava".
Promethean insulators
The problem of avoiding the red ground can be solve once you've reached the 5. biome - Fractured Wastes. While exploring this region, we may come across an optional area where we will find Promethean insulators. This device will become part of our permanent equipment, so it will stay with us forever and will be automatically available in all subsequent cycles.
Thanks to the insulators, we can walk on the red ground safely, although we still need to be wary of lasers that can appear in the same locations.
