This page of the guide to Poppy Playtime contains a walkthrough of part 4 in Chapter 1 of the game. Here you will meet the monster, run away from it and find out how to end this part of the game. You will also learn what will happen if you don't run away from the blue mascot.
Create a toy
Once you connect power, it's time to turn on the machines. Go down to the room and use the red button on the board that says "Make a Friend". If this does not work, you probably have a wrong connection to the power supply. You can also reset the game if the problem persists.
The next step is to create a toy. You just have to use three levers, starting with the first one on the left. Pull each one after the other.
Creating a toy takes a while - you can walk around the factory during this time. You can also wait at the end of the conveyor belt for your mascot to show up.
Put the ready toy in the place shown in the screenshot above. This will open another door.
Escape
Enter the corridor and approach the dark room. You will meet the blue monster. Huggy won't be nice and lovable this time, it's time to get out.
There is only one way to die in Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 - getting caught by the monster. This part features only one escape sequence; if you fail to lose the enemy, Huggy will grab you and eat you. This is one of the "scarier" moments because the monster will appear from nowhere right in front of your face.
You can only run to the shaft that has just opened. It's the one right next to the conveyor on which brought you the ready toy.
You'll be running away from the monster inside the shaft. Huggy can jump out of different places. Your job is simply to run ahead. The more light you can see, the better. It means you're approaching the end. Don't stop, or you'll die.
When you run onto the metal path, turn around immediately and look up. Grab the cardboard with both hands and pull it with all your might.
This will make a part of the scaffolding collapse and Huggy will fall down. You can even see a blood stain on the metal pipe if the monster hits its head during the fall.
Gray tape
The tape on the metal railing, you'll see it right after escaping from the monster. You just need to look at your feet to find it.
The VCR is right next to the room's exit, to the right of the tape.
Ending
Now you simply need to go through the hallway. Start at the entrance, which has been marked with a large red flower. Remember that you won't be able to go back from here anymore.
Keep going straight down the hallway all the time, pass the door (opened with the E key, not pushed) until you reach the doll in the chest. You know what to do - it's time to open the door to get to the plushie. An interesting dialogue will end this part of the story.
