You can start this quest in two ways. The first option is to read the journal found next to Magilla's body. Also, you can locate the hidden passage leading to the hideout.
After you enter the cave you meet Trompdoy . He will mock you but you cannot confront him. After the conversation go towards the three crates. Behind them, there is a bridge you can see only when you are near it. Cross the bridge, and then go towards the cul-de-sac. At the end, there is a creeper, with which you can climb onto a ledge. Do not go between the two ledges, as you will have to fight another versions of Trompdoy . They use area attacks, so a team in a small corridor is a perfect target for them.
After the fight, go to the chamber with a statue standing in the middle. You can continue only if you answer the two questions asked by the statue. The answers are:
- "very, atwul, rotten"
- "a hex, a misery, a blight, a curse"
When you answer, the statue opens the door. When you use it, there is another battle you have to fight. This time, the battle lasts until you kill the true Trompdoy . Unfortunately, he is not indicated in any way. Nonetheless, he appears in the first wave of enemies, so simply focus your attention onto this particular group.
After the fight you enter the vault, in which you find the Soul Jars - one of which hides the Trompdoy's soul. After a short dialog you have to decide on Trompdoy's fate.
Choice 1: Destroy the Jar
The Energy hidden in the jar is released and Trompdoy dies.

Choice 2: Absorb the energy
The Energy in the jar is absorbed by the character, who interacts with the jar. It is possible only if you have already completed The Collar.
