Object - how to scan?
You will get familiarized with the Analysis Visor at the beginning of the game. It is used to find mineral deposits, knowledge stones and other interesting objects. Thanks to this device, you will be able to examine everything you encounter on your path, from strange plants and stones to unique animals.
To use the visor, just press the appropriate button (F on PC, L2/LT/ZL on consoles) and then scan the object in front of you.
Animals whose species you have already discovered will be marked with a green icon. The red dot indicates an unknown species.
Animals in the distance - how to scan?
If animals that appear as red dots when using the visor are hidden behind another object or too far away, scanning will be disabled. You have to get close enough or wait for the animal to move.
Fast-moving animals (especially flying ones) can be difficult to scan. You can kill them first and then scan their bodies.
There are several enhancements to the visor, thanks to which you will increase its range and discoveries value. You can find these improvements at the appropriate module trader.
I can't find the last species - what should I do?
Some side quests will require you to discover a certain number of species of fauna and flora. If you have difficulties with finding the missing species, remember that animals and plants also live under water. Sometimes you have to travel to distant corners of the planet to discover them all.
If you still have difficulty finding the missing species, leave the planet and try to return to it later. Choose a different landing spot and search for a new area.
