On this page of the NiOh 2 guide, you will learn about the death mechanic.
In NiOh 2, and other soulslike games, death plays an important role. Players in NiOh 2 will die very often due to the game's high difficulty level. The moment our character dies, they leave a grave with our guardian spirit. When we die, we lose all our Amrita that we have collected so far. We are also unable to use our guardian spirit. There are 3 ways to retrieve our grave:
- Go to the place where our character died and interact with it. This is the most standard solution. In many cases, this is how we will retrieve our grave. However, you have to be careful not to die again. When you die again without retrieving the grave, all your Amrita will disappear forever.
- Use the Summoners candles. This item allows you to retrieve the grave from any point on the map. Thanks to this item you can get your guardian spirit and Amrita back from a safe distance - you won't expose yourself to accidental death.
- Recall the guardian spirit at a shrine. This is one of the worst decisions - although you get your guardian spirit back, you lose all the Amrita left at that grave.
Other players leave red swords when they die. The game gives us the opportunity to summon the spirit of the player and fight them. When you defeat the spirit of the fallen player, you will get one item that they wore. This is an ideal option for gaining glory points and getting Ochoko cups necessary to summon other players.
