The successor of the 152 model holds the record of the most produced aircraft and holds the number one position on the most-produced aircraft list. The plane gained an extraordinary recognition due to the famous event from the Cold War period. The teenage German pilot (Mathias Rust) flew it from Helsinki to Moscow in 1987 and landed in the middle of the Soviet capital, near the Red Square and the Moscow Kremlin. The pilot wanted to create an imaginary bridge to the East, and that his flight was intended to reduce the tension and suspicion between the two Cold War sides.
