At the very beginning of this chapter of The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, you'll reach the boat you've already encountered in the game's prologue. From that moment on, you will constantly move around and explore it.
Follow your companions constantly to finally get to the room in which you will be locked. You can't escape or do anything wrong in the course of this sequence. Opponents will not accept your attempts to resist.
To help your team get out, you need to move the ventilation shaft lock box.
You can go through all the things available in the room and go back to the shaft. Your task will be to distract opponents. You can either set up a barricade or start making noise. Both options will slow down the chase.
When you enter the shaft, you have two options to choose from. You can start running or you can cover the passage. The option with a curtain will give you more time to escape.
