You can't get past this way.

In the next location, you encounter a group of knights standing next to the destroyed bridge. You cannot get close. Here, you only have access to dialogue lines.

A thought-out accident.

Therefore, go right and head down the path, to reach the river. Jump onto the rocks, which makes your character stage his fall into the water. If you get across the water (it is shallow) you get to the other side, but the game returns you to where you originally were. This unlocks an achievement: "Graham The Basilisk".

You need to distract them.

As soon as you are rescued by the guards, approach the nearby tree and interact with it to agitate the swarm of bees. They will take a good care of the guards, who escape to the rim of the map and cease to be a problem.

A bow + rope, a well-known trick.

Return to the destroyed bridge and approach the knights. Blowing the horn does nothing, so interact with the nearby rope. Unfortunately, one of the knights gets the idea of taking advantage of your idea and gets to the other side himself.

Another one, preying on the labor of others.

In such a situation, approach the large tree right next to you and select the axe. Press S several times to get the help from another knight. Also this one, takes advantage of your idea and offers no help to you.

And the same thing over again.

Now, head down the path and jump onto the rocks projecting from the water. Since the bulky knight knocked the fallen trunk into the water, you can walk over it to get across the river. Again, you will be taken advantage of by another knight.

The final attempt.

It is time to give it one more try. While standing next to the plank washed to the bank, select the axe from the inventory and chop it into smaller chunks. Then, pick up the rope and tie the bits of wood together to build a raft.

Success!

Thanks to the raft, you get safely to the other side, by tapping S repeatedly. This activates a cutscene featuring the last of the knights.

It is ready now.

Immediately, approach the stones, sticking out of the rocky wall and climb to the very top, by interacting and pressing appropriate movement keys. Finally, you reach the gate to the tournament arena.
