The Infantry is a very durable unit. When placed in a forest or on a barricade, it can last many turns.

It's an excellent unit for close combat! It may deal the smallest damage out of all classic units, but from the very beginning it has a very high level of damage reduction. Their armor is a major advantage, and it's getting better and better with each improvement. It's most effective when fighting against ranged units (Bows and Crossbows). The infantry can withstand their fire and approach to deal damage. Use them in a group and try to use forests and fortifications to minimize damage from ranged enemies to a minimum. It is the most versatile unit, although it is not made to quickly eliminate enemies. Its big advantage is the relatively low cost of recruitment. As with the Militia, you must have 3 or more soldiers to for the unit to deal full damage.
