List of main missions
Main story missions in Halo Infinite are done in a pre-determined order. However, some tasks are divided into parts and involve, for example, visiting several structures on the map. You will be able to perform these actions in any order, but only within the current mission.

Types of side tasks
Halo Infinite doesn't have typical side missions. Instead, you can do larger optional activities that can be treated as additional tasks. These are:
Banished Outposts symbolized by purple icons on the world map. These large enemy bases offer different sets of mission objectives to complete - you may have to, for example, unlock the main entrances to the station or sabotage enemy equipment. Complete each task to turn the outpost into a UNSC base. This alos rewards you with Valor points.
High-level targets symbolized by red icons on the world map. They're mini-bosses. Each of them is unique and drops unique equipment that can be then taken with you on missions.
You can also look for numerous secret items from different categories (e.g. Spartan Audio Logs, Spartan Cores, or Forerunners artifacts). We described these secrets in a separate chapter called Secrets and collectibles.
