Cult locations and prepper stashes in Whitetail Mountains Far Cry 5 Guide and Walkthrough

On this page we have published information about the cult properties, cult outposts and prepper stashes which are located in the Whitetail Mountains region in Far Cry 5. Whitetail Mountains is one of the three large locations to explore in the game world. You don't have to find all these things on your first visit in this area. Pay attention to the following descriptions of the stash finding missions, because reaching many of them will allow you to get rich quickly.

Properties and cult outposts in Whitetail Mountains

In Whitetail Mountains you can find:

1. 10 cult properties - They are wolf lures similar to the one presented in the picture above. You receive 100 resistance points by destroying any of the cult properties (shoot at a generator at the base of a tower with megaphones).4 cult outposts - To liberate an outpost you need to kill all cultist in a given location. Each liberated outpost rewards you with a few hundreds of resistance points. You should also try to capture them without raising an alarm (use silenced weapons, bows or takedowns). Thanks to that you can avoid enemy reinforcements and you will get bonus money - $1,000

Cliffhanger

This is one of the prepper stashes in Whitetail Mountains. Examine the area west from Wolf's Den to start this treasure hunting mission.

Reach the corpse that lies next to the crashed car near Ozhigwan Falls. There, you will find Prepper's Note that will inform you about the treasure.

Climb a little bit and reach the asphalt road near the waterfall. Find the stone ledge presented in the picture. It can be found near OZHIGWAN FALLS road sign (there are two cultists near that sign). Kill them and find the second corpse on the stone ledge. Pick up Ten and Ian's Key.

Go back to the place where you have started your investigation. You can now open the green crate on the crashed van's back. Inside, you will find a lot of money and 3 perk books (each one gives you 1 perk point).

Hangar Pains

This is one of the prepper stashes in Whitetail Mountains. You can unlock this mission be visiting Lansdowne Airstrip - this location can be found in the north-east part of Whitetail Mountains (see the picture above). A box with Prepper's Note lies next to the closed hangar.

The treasure is inside of the locked hangar. The only way to get inside is to reach the open hatch on the hangar's rooftop. You can do that by using your own helicopter and landing it on the hangar.

If you don't have a helicopter then you can climb the tower on the airport (see the picture 1). Use Grappling Hook to reach its balconies. After reaching the highest one you have to face the hangar. Jump and quickly use a parachute. Control your flight and land on the rooftop. Then, you can use the hatch (the picture 2).

Inside the hangar you can find a unique plane, Pack Hunter which will be added to your collection of vehicles. Besides that, the hangar has typical prepper stash rewards, e.g. a lot of money, ammo and 4 perk books (each one of them gives you 1 perk point).

Gone Squatchin

This is one of the prepper stashes available in Whitetail Mountains. Reach Dansky's Cabin located in the western part of this region (see the picture). That place is near, e.g. Valley View Overlook. Find the box with Prepper's Note (it lies in front of the locked cabin).

You have to look for Dansky who went searching for the titular Sasquatch. Go north and reach the vantage point. There, you will find a journal page.

You now have to climb even higher. Reach the cliff and use the Grappling Hook on the first interaction point. You have to slide down in the place presented in the picture 1. Reach the lower ledge with Dansky's corpse. Pick up his magnetic card (the picture 2), go back to the cabin and open it. Inside, you can find, e.g. a bow, a lot of money, 3 perk books (each one of them gives you 1 perk point) and ammo.

Salvage Rites

This is one of the prepper stashes available in Whitetail Mountains. Reach the small island in the south part of this region (see the picture). Find Salvage Camp on the shore and locate the box with a Prepper's Note.

This prepper stash is inside of a metal container which can only be opened with a key. Jump into Silver Lake, swim to the place pointed by the game and dive. The key can be found at the bottom of the lake, near a plane's wreckage (see the picture above). Use the key on the metal container. Inside, you can find, e.g. a lot of money and 3 perk books (each one of them gives you 1 perk point).

Mayday

This is one of the prepper stashes available in Whitetail Mountains. Reach Rattlesnake Trail Bridge located in the north-west part of the region. A mountain path leads there but you can, e.g. fly there in a helicopter if you don't want to lose too much time. Find the box with a Prepper's Note.

You must reach a plane's wreckage that was shot down by cultists. It can be found north from the mission's starting point. You will have to climb a bit - remember to use the Grappling Hook and to climb on the ledges with blue ropes.

There are a few cultists in the crash zone. Defeat them before you do anything here. The treasure is inside of the locked metal chest. Find Kyle's key presented in the picture and use it to open the chest. Inside, you can find, e.g. a lot of money, materials and 3 perk books (each one of them gives you 1 perk point).

Unwelcome Guest

This is one of the prepper stashes available in Whitetail Mountains. Reach Frank's Cabin located in the south-west corner of Whitetail Mountains. You can get there by following the path but there is also a quicker way of reaching that place, e.g. by flying a helicopter. Find the box with a Prepper's Note.

Your objective is to find Frank. Head west. Look for blood stains, they will "show" you the way. Frank was killed by a grizzly bear. The cave, presented in the picture, is its lair. Kill the bear and examine the cave. Frank's Key Card can be found right next to Frank's corpse.

Go back to the cabin and use the card to get inside. The treasure contains, e.g. a lot of money, 3 perk books (each one of them gives you 1 perk point) and ammo.

The Holdouts

It is one of the prepper stashes located in the Whitetail Mountains. In order to unlock the treasure hunting mission, you must reach the Elliot Residence from the picture above. This location is adjacent to, among others, the Grill Streak, where orders are received from Chad. It's the southern part of the Whitetail Mountains (south of the F.A.N.G. Center). Find a Prepper's Note box from which you can get the information about treasure' location.

Do not hurry with reaching the bunker, because you need to have an access card to get into its secret room. Go to the back of the large house and get to the place from screenshot 1. Climb to the lower roof and then walk through the opened shutter.

Go to the opposite end of the first floor of the house. Stop by the new window shutter, go through it to get back on the roof and take an interest in the neighboring opened window from screenshot 2. You can already get down to the ground floor and reach the kitchen where the Elliot's Key Card lies on the ground.

Get out of the building. Cultists may have appeared on the farm, although fighting them is optional.

The most important thing is to find the bunker. The bunker hatch is in a small area shown in the screenshot. Destroy the padlock (use any weapon), go inside the bunker and use the kitchen card to open the door to the treasure room. The secret room includes a Stanford lighter (one of the secrets of the game), a large amount of cash, 3 talent magazines (each of which adds 1 talent point) and ammunition.
