Anybody who played the first installment The Evil Within is familiar with the crossbow. It allows you to shoot several types of bolts to deal more damage and cause diverse effects (such as stunning and explosion). You can also use them to open shortcuts (by shooting the fuse boxes with the Electric Bolt). You can get the Warden Crossbow at the very beginning of Chapter 3.
Leave the hideout and go west, killing the enemies you encounter on your way. There are lots of them, thus keep your distance and eliminate them with your firearms - it is extremely difficult to sneak up on them. You can also distract them using the Bottles. After you clear your way, locate the white truck, from which you can get the Warden Crossbow together with Electric and Explosive bolts.
This weapon is identical to the one from the first installment - it deals major damage and is extremely effective in combat, however, the bolts are limited. Thus, keep them for "special occasions" You can also craft all types of bolts - you just need to have at least one bolt with you to unlock the option to craft it in the workshop.
