Merchant - This character specializes in selling melee weapons, ranged weapons, staffs, shields, armors and upgrades.
Barnabus - This character specializes in selling accessories and valuables.
Pierre-Marie - This character specializes in selling staffs, armors and upgrades.
Merchant - This character specializes in selling schematics.
Deraboam - This character is selling only one item - a Mystery Box. Deraboam wants 10000 gold for the box and if you will decide to buy it a statue of a nug will appear in the exact same spot where the chest was. Make sure to examine the hug statue, because doing that will unlock an operation that you can complete from the war room. The operation is entitled "The Big One?".
Furniture trader - This characters appears in Val Royeaux after unlocking Skyhold. You can purchase several types of fabric here as well unique items used to customize Skyhold to make it look different.
Willvan - This characters appears in Val Royeaux after unlocking Skyhold. You can purchase tonics schematics from this merchant as well as unique codex entries.
Havel - This characters appears in Val Royeaux after unlocking Skyhold. Its primary specialization are armors and you can also purchase a blank runestone.

The above map presents all of the important characters and locations in Val Royeaux. Apart from traders, you cannot find any important characters here, which would play a key role in the game. Still, it is a worth adding that some of the NPCs (traders, mainly), appear in Val Royeaux, as a result of your progress into the storyline and you cannot meet them the first time around. You can leave Val Royeaux through the interactive Western passage, or by bringing up the world map.
