On this page, you will find some tips for driving a stagecoach on the expedition map in Darkest Dungeon 2. You will learn basic information and tips on finding collectibles and improving mobility.
Basic information
Unlike in the previous part of the game, you now don't control the party directly, but the stagecoach. It also acts as inventory storage and can be upgraded (in the Inn) with found items to increase its capacity.
You drive it by using the arrow keys or WASD. You cannot go backwards. You will come across crossroads - choose the direction you want to take.
Picking up collectibles
You will also encounter various obstacles along the route, like piles of bones or wooden barricades - go through them. Rarely, but still, you can find some free items or valuables in them.
The stagecoach has no health bar and cannot be destroyed, so don't worry about obstacles and careful driving.

How to improve mobility
Control options
In the game options, you can change three settings regarding the stagecoach - steering angle, reaction, camera shake (and turn off the automatic drive forward option). The suggested settings are shown in the screenshot above - turn off camera shake, maximize the steering angle and greatly increase the sensitivity of the steering.
How then to use a stagecoach?
While driving straight, hold down the turn button in the desired direction for about half a second - after a while, the stagecoach will start driving straight by itself. Thanks to this, you will be able to move like in an analog game: assuming that there are three lanes, and each press of the turn allows you to change one or two lanes. This way, you can easily collect all the collectibles on the route.
