Pets are interesting creatures that you may encounter in the game world. While traveling around the map in Cube World you may encounter many of them and you will be able to add them to your team.

Pet name
To name a pet, you must enter the /namepet command and specify its name. This only works on the active pet. If you want to choose names for your other pets you have to switch your currently active pet.
How to summon and call your pet
To summon an active pet, just press the T key. Wherever it stays, it'll be right next to you in a few seconds.
The same thing happens after the death of your companion.
Taming pets
Taming an animal is not difficult, but requires a special ingredient - pet's favorite meal. To make things easier for you while taming pets, we've prepared a list of foods that will help you in conquering your pet's heart.
Combat
- Pets will never start a fight alone, even if the player is attacked;
- If you attack an opponent, your pet will also start attacking;
- If you are attacked by a group of opponents, pet will still focus on the enemy you are currently attacking;
- To stop an animal from attacking, you must summon the animal to yourself - T key.
How to dismount?
In order to get off the mount in Cube World, you need to do one of the following interactions:
- Attack. Since a character cannot fight while using a mount it will automatically dismount.
- Make a dodge;
- Fall from a high height;
- Activate a boat or an aircraft.
Can I have multiple pets at the same time?
Yes. You can have a whole bunch of animals, but there can only be one active pet at a time. An active animal is the one that follows you through the game world. You can change them at any time, depending on the situation, the zone or combat.
Can my pet die?
Pet may die, but it will be reborn just after a moment. It will stand right next to your character. It will also not lose any health or skill points.
Types of pets
There are five types of Pets in Cube World:
Melee pets
These are pets that take part in melee combat.
Ranged pets
These animals attack only from a distance, just like your ranged weapons.
Healing pets
This type of pets can heal you up during combat.
Mounts
You can mount them and use them as a means of transport to reach distant places on the map much faster.
Tank
Turtle is currently the only character that acts as a tank. It takes on heavy damage and distracts opponents.
Pet development
Each pet has its own level of advancement. Over time, you can develop it to make it stronger, more durable and faster.
