Conquest mode Battlefield 1 Guide

Last update: 31 October 2016

This chapter contains detailed advice related to conquest mode. Everyone who plays in this mode should read this advice in order to avoid making stupid mistakes.

Don't run chaotically through the map

It happens frequently that players in conquest mode are running through the map without thinking. They are trying to capture the flags without looking that the ones recently captured are being reclaimed. It is a bad tactic that doesn't give many profits to the team since the flags are being captured only temporarily and the player wastes much time on running. It is much better to select one or two flags and remain focused only on them.

Let's look at the Sinai Desert map.

The flags here can be grouped in pairs - Conquest mode - Advice - Battlefield 1 Game Guide

The flags here can be grouped in pairs. Flag A goes with flag B, C with D and F with G. Only the point E is located far from all the others. During the game you should select some points and through the whole match fight only for them, no matter whether you will be attacking or defending. By doing so you will help your team much more than if you would run from point to point. Of course, you don't have to select one point for the whole match. You must adapt to the situation on the battlefield.

Remember to take equipment suitable to combat in the selected place. AB and FG pairs are rather open spaces on which sniper rifle will be useful. Area around C and D is an urban area in which you will frequently fight at close distance - assault, medic and support classes' rifles will be useful here.

Use the vehicles

Usually there are a large number of vehicles available in the conquest mode - Conquest mode - Advice - Battlefield 1 Game Guide

Usually there are a large number of vehicles available in the conquest mode. They can make great difference on the battlefield. If you want to capture a flag that doesn't have a good cover, look for a tank or at least a car or even a horse. This will provide you with some cover. As infantry you are an easy prey for snipers, tanks or planes on an open area on the desert.

Don't focus only on flag

Both while attacking ore defending the position with the flag, the key aspect is to control the area around the flag while not necessarily being very close to the flag itself. Because of that, if you are attacking the flag, don't run immediately to take it over - instead, focus on the areas around it where the enemies can hide. Patience and checking all the most important hideouts is very important.

It's similar when you defend the point - don't stand too close to the flag. Find a safe place from which you will have a good view. If there are many enemies, retreat, wait for your team allies to respawn and attack the area together.
