As soon as you get to the winch of the third trebuchet, you will be attacked by Deathless archers. They come in three groups and by firing the trebuchet, you can easily kill them all.
As soon as you eliminate the archers, aim at the gate, adjust the force of the shot with RT button and fire to destroy the gate.
