Hunter Style choice Monster Hunter Generations Guide

Last update: 06 September 2016

Now comes the time to chose a combat role by choosing Hunter Style. The chosen style severely influences the tactics during fights - from raining monsters with quick special attacks to patiently waiting for the right moment to deal the one crushing blow. Each of these styles looks much different and is well balanced according to the weapon it uses. Every of these styles has a different special attack and influences the agility, and even the way in which attacks are usually made - determined by the used weapon. Each of the styles can be ascribed a set of special attacks - the Hunter Arts, which have to be "filled" by dealing blows to monsters, before they can be used.

You can choose one of four styles - Hunter Style choice - Character - Monster Hunter Generations Game Guide

You can choose one of four styles:

Guild - Versatile technique, two special attacks. Ideal for adjusting to different combat situations.

Striker - Relatively easy style with three special attacks that regenerate equally fast. Ideal for spamming hostile archers

Aerial - A unique acrobatic style, only one special attack, but allows aerial attacks. Good for jumping on monsters, dodging in the air etc.

Adept - A technique for patient players. One special attack which is not recharged as the rest of them; it can be done immediately after a successful dodge or block an incoming attack.

The amount of special attacks available never changes, but along with progress in the game, you can unlock dozens of Hunting Arts, which can be ascribed to available slots - Hunter Style choice - Character - Monster Hunter Generations Game Guide

The amount of special attacks available never changes, but along with progress in the game, you can unlock dozens of Hunting Arts, which can be ascribed to available slots. This introduces many nuisances into combat, which in previous parts of Monster Hunter was based only on attacks ascribed to the type of weapon (an players inventiveness). Thanks to this division in Generations even a team of four players using the same weapon will be much different in terms of players' roles.

Of course no guide will help you to chose the perfect combination of Styles and Arts, since its a subjective decision, so - once again - I advise to try all the options yourselves - Hunter Style choice - Character - Monster Hunter Generations Game Guide
