Maybe nobody reads here but i'll give it a try.

The NPCs dissapeare because you start a NEW GAME and then you save you NEW GAME there wrere you saved you older game.It happened to me when i got bored from all time magic and started to play as a fighter. When i saved i overwrited the old game and then i saw that the space where the orc patrol and aggresive wild boars are empty and i couden't finnish the quest. So first i tried to go out of the game and so.But then i goed to other cities and found out that the cities that i liberated were empty and then i DELETED the saved game i had and started over and then i saved it like normaly and everything was reseted and i coud enjoy the game as a fighter.I hope if somebody has the same problem this post will help him.

Did you completely exit the game and reload before you chose 'New Game'? It seems the dissappearing NPC bug appears when you go from an existing game and select 'New Game' without exiting Gothic 3. Sounds like elements of the existing game are not totally reset in the new game, a bug for sure, and there may be no cure.

Don't know what to say, this is my second game and he was in the same spot, I have unpatched NA version. A lot of the earlier crashes, I used to have, have mysteriously dissappeared. Apparently OS upgrades and latest hardware drivers have solved some early issues. As for program bugs, the only one I have encountered is associated with Gotha and Faring. See my comments in Gotha section.

Last time Kurt was at the last camp with all the chests at the end, and Karlen lead me to him. I know he won't lead me to group 5, but group 5 is not the group I need. I even loaded a much earlier saved game and went to see if Kurt was there and he wasn't. In other words Kurt hasn't been loaded so I can't get the fire chalice and all these bugs are getting on my nerves seriously.

He's there, there are multiple groups of bandits, you just haven't followed Karlen to the group where Kurt is. There are five distinct groups Kurt is in the third or fourth group. Groups 1 and 2 are close together just as you get to the top (zenith) of the pass, then 3 and 4 also close together but down the pass (sharp hairpin left trail) a little towards Varant, group 5 is further down almost to Varant. Karlen will not lead you to group 5. He's done when Kurt is dead.

Why? Why isn't Kurt there? The first time I played he was there, now he isn't anymore. Should I start all over again or is there another solution?

For the people who can't find Karlen : Get out of the castle of Trelis , go to the path of Varant .When you find a burned farm with some SCRATS around go up the hill . Karlen is on the hill in back of the farm .

In a wood chest (unlocked) up and just around to the right of the front entrance. Note: there are at least one teleporter stone for every location, including Nordmar (each clan, monastery, and Xardas' tower) and Varant (Each city/town). A few have two (same spot, Ardea, Gotha, etc.) and there are two (actually 3) for Vengard (one to temple - Markus, one to castle of King Rhobar, and another that teleports you just outside the barrier.) There is no teleporter stone for the unnamed rebel camp north of Silden (Anog's), but there is one for each of the three named ones.
