Once you’ve arrived at Count Dracula’s castle, listen to what Van Helsing has to say. Your first task here will be to get rid of the coachman, because only then you’ll be allowed to explore the main areas of the castle. Start off by picking up a large Leghold trap. Ignore the bucket filled blood for the time being and proceed to your right. You will come across a door here. Sadly, you aren’t allowed to enter the castle at the moment.
You can take a closer look at some of the trophies if you want to, however it’s optional and you wouldn’t anything of interest there. You will have to pick up a Vase. Also, you should come across two Ropes. They can be found to your left (screen). You will probably notice that these objects will occupy different slots. Choose one of the ropes from your inventory.
Your task here will be to use the rope on a hook which can be found near the ceiling. It’s difficult to spot, so you should use my screen to find it. Thankfully, the rope is going to be attached automatically. Now you will have to choose a trap from your inventory. Use this item on the hanging rope and Van Helsing will automatically combine those together. Choose a second rope from your inventory and use it on the trap on the floor. Go to your right.
Start off by picking up two Meat hooks. These objects can be found in the lower right corner of the screen. Just as before, they will occupy different slots in your inventory. Click on the second hook (screen) and Van Helsing will automatically attach the second rope to it. Now you should click on a small table located near the carriage. Wait for the game to zoom in the view on the table.
You will have to solve a simple puzzle here. Your task will be to neutralize two traps. Meat hook icons are located at the bottom of the screen. Use them to disable both traps (screen). Doing this will allow you to pick up a Dead rat. Close this window, because you won’t find any other items of interest here.
Choose the dead rat from your inventory and head back to your left. Place the rat near the leghold trap (screen). Once this is done, go back to the right and hide behind the coach. If you’ve done everything according to the plan, you are going to be rewarded with a new cut-scene. The coachman tries to take the rat, but he ends up getting trapped by Van Helsing. Once the cut-scene has ended, talk to the coachman and ask him about Mina. You’ll find out that Mina and Dracula are being protected by a woman with black hair. Talk to the coachman once again and you’ll notice that he’s hungry.
