The dragon-hunting quest begins when you defeat the dragon in Underground River. Much later, when you visit Kelaso village, the elder in there tells you that there are more dragons to be dealt with - that conversation makes them spawn in the game's world. Besides King Poo and Gold Mecha Robo, these are the most difficult enemies in the game (well, Moody Dragon isn't tough). Don't try to eliminate them too early - you really need to be well prepared for that.

Moody Dragon

Place: Underground River

Check out the Underground River section in DISC 2.

Phantom Dragon

Place: southern outskirts of The Great Desert.

This dragon isn't impossible to beat, but it still has a whopping 25-30 thousand HP - Dragons - Disc 3 - Side-quests - Blue Dragon - Game Guide and Walkthrough

This dragon isn't impossible to beat, but it still has a whopping 25-30 thousand HP. It doesn't deal much damage, as long as you have decent wind protection. Also, don't ever attack it physically - it will heal it instead of dealing damage. Stick to the magic, folks.

Amethyst Dragon

Place: Coastal Road (south of Talta Village)

Get yourself some decent negative-status protection for this one (mostly Paralyze), as well as anti-Wind equipment - Dragons - Disc 3 - Side-quests - Blue Dragon - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Get yourself some decent negative-status protection for this one (mostly Paralyze), as well as anti-Wind equipment. The enemy has lots of HP - more or less 15 thousand - so be careful and act wisely. Don't charge, even if that means you don't deal damage for two turns or more (heal instead). Remember that time is on your side - Corporeals are constantly loading up. When it comes to attack, try Windus and physical attacks.

Blizzard Dragon

Place: west of Kelaso Village

This monster mostly uses ice magic - Dragons - Disc 3 - Side-quests - Blue Dragon - Game Guide and Walkthrough

This monster mostly uses ice magic. To fight him you must have decent protection against it. The enemy is hellishly fast and deadly effective. In my case, I had to stick to healing and using Corporeals to kill it.

Spark Dragon

Place: Gul Mountains (behind a red barrier)

This one was the worst for me. Not sure if that was due to lack of proper protection, but it seemed like the most demanding of all the dragons. It required a little bit more training and better items. Remember to protect against wind and earth. Attack it physically or with fire.

When you defeat all the dragons (there's an achievement for that), get back to Kelaso and talk to the elder - Dragons - Disc 3 - Side-quests - Blue Dragon - Game Guide and Walkthrough

When you defeat all the dragons (there's an achievement for that), get back to Kelaso and talk to the elder. He'll assemble a Dragon Bracelet for you - definitely the best bracelet in the game (you deserve it).

The life crusher bracelet is the easiest way to kill all the dragons , it may take a few tries to get that main kill hit but it does happen

I never fought the Moody dragon on my first blow through the Underground river, and going back to it after talking to the cheif of Keloso Village, it isn't there. Anyone got some tips for an idiot, such as myself?

For Amethyst Get 1 guardian with total guard, put on a belly button ring of wind and anything else with paralyze protection, after that its easy just keep smacking him while your guardian just gets healed every time (for some reason he never seems to do a melee attack) hope that helps with that

Wow. I've been playing this game for a while, so this site is awesome for hints and such. I just gotta say one thing: With Phantom Dragon, whatever you do, DON'T EVER USE CORPOREALS!! They heal him, rather than dealing damage, which I had to find out the hard way. Also, don't listen to the hint telling you to use Flare or Water against him; it's a waste of your magic, as it deals very little damage to him. Use Windus Sword every chance you can, and make sure to keep using Zephyrus and Wallus. Then again, I'm only fighting him right now at Lvl. 60s...

502exp for defeating Phantom? that seems hardly worth it...

What i did for spark dragon was different from all of yours. All people on one line cause i dont care to ever change and one person with barrier magic for wallus and high agility and have quickus casted on your whole team. Keep casting wallus with the same person if u have double cast you can attack with them as well. I had marumaro have both earth/wind absorb just incase. With this you'll almost never take any damage except for those rare times when u dont have enough charge time but you should always be good if u have quick charge from the white magic skills i found windus sword worked best and flarus magic spam my people are all under 60 except 1 but i think i have good equips 0.0... Amethys is easy to beat since he can only hit 1 person at a time and can't 1 hit any of my people so just have double cast heal then attack with other. Blizzard was hardest first time merely cause i had all on first line and they all except my person with water wing were getting slowed just moved 3 to the back and had 2 upfront 1 with water absorb other with resisting and just blocking then quickus all and shellus all then if you want shieldus the front line and just heal with zephyrus after he uses blizard and keep attacking. Lol found the advice on amethys funny. I charged everything without any trouble i didn't even get enough time to corporal on any of the dragons. the mecha is hard though i suggest pulling him close to another mob then starting the fight with the R trigger so you can put on all buffs before your fight with him and if your lucky maybe even get a Fast Attack after the first battle. Wall will protect your people from 1 laser attacks but he was usually fast enough to get off 2 so if your people can't stand 1 it'll still be hard.this post has been modified by its author [2010-03-14 07:51:25]

tamaki 08/06/2009 15:35

amythist dragon has about 25k hp, and only gives 500xp from defeating it. i did it at level 63...youll need about 7 corprels so keep healing

corpereal 18/01/2009 22:50

u most use on sparky this monk class 70+ lvl 70-99 combat-double strike and less is more i did it that way and 1 guy with support magic will help u need Quickus goodluck everyone

Sorry, I miss- pasted. Here's General Lee's advice on the spark dragon: He has an earth and wind attack, so put a black mage and a white mage in the back row. He uses Black Wind much more often than Ancient Force, and it's more powerful than Ancient Force, so equip your white mage with a Wind and Earth Bellybutton Ring and your black mage with a wind bellybutton ring. You can get two Bellybutton Rings of Wind in the game. One from a chest in the Underground River and one by stealing from either the Landshark in Nene's fortress or the Landshark in the Ancient Ruins Forest. The only way I know of to obtain the Bellybutton Ring of Earth is to steal it from the Azure Sentinel in Nolutta Village. Pound away with flarus sword with your swordmaster and heal everyone with your white mage(my white and black mages knew white magic, and I had to make both keep healing). I basically let him damage me and did about 7 corporeals on him after about 25 minutes, killing him.

My husband and I came up with a great strategy for the phantom dragon. He is weak against flarus and waterus. Waterus most of the time puts him to sleep and flarus deals a ton of damage. That coupled with zepheryus and some decent elemental protection and my guys were unstoppable! But it did take quite a while to needle him to death (about 20-30 minutes). I also found help for the spark dragon online : (Quoted from General Lee Fishcake on neoseeker.com) I did come up with a great strategy for the phantom dragon. He is weak against flarus and waterus.
