Chapter Five - Catacombs | Walkthrough Yesterday Origins Guide

In this chapter as John you are searching Paris catacombs to find hidden here centuries ago a murderous book. To do this you need to:
Move the crate away
Being at the entrance of Paris catacombs talk with girl called Mole. (If you want to use every dialogue's options, talk about payment at the end). Boris and John will receive headlights.
If you want to know more about John, click his icon in the inventory.
Observation of John:
- headlight;
- backpack;
- right (from player's) shoe (aside).
When you come at the place where appears an Y sign, look at the pedestal with inscription above and sign Y at the bottom which was left for Yago by Fergus' successor's.
Then look at the crate. Notice a bar which can't be moved by using bare hands. Use climbing hook on top and bottom zip ties of the bar. Unfortunately, the crate still can't be moved.
Look at the one of the skeletons and use laser pointer on the active point (on the skull). Pour water from the bottle on the ground (place pointed by laser) and use hook on the ground. Then use bar to pull out the pivot. Now take a pointer from the skull and put into the nose of the second skeleton. Repeat whole action - water, hook, bar - with the second spot. On the hole in one of the pivots use bar. Go further (don't forget to take the pointer from the skull).
Get on the other side of the well
Being above the well (look at the sign in the bottom) you need to find a way to get to the other side, but the bridge is broken.
Notice four heavy iron rings on the wall close to the ruined bridge. Use rope on one of the rings (information about climbing). Notice two torches on the walls near the entrance and one torch lying on the left side of the entrance, take this one. Come back to Boris.
Go to the right, click the bone wall and use laser on the tunnel to call Mole (take it from the skull if you didn't do this earlier).
Observation of the girl called Mole:
- tattoo in the ace of hearts shape on the right (from player's view) side of the chest;
- left hand (aside);
- left arm (aside);
- earring in the left ear (aside);
- tattoo on the right side of the nape (aside).
- right shoe (aside);
Talk with the girl about everything. Finally talk about well, but the girl thinks that John's idea is too dangerous. If you call her again (just click the bone wall) and use the icon, you will find out that the girl need to know what is below the abyss. (If you earlier ask her three stupid questions about her job as a tourist guide, you will get Stupid Questions achievement)..
Come back to Boris and look at him.
Observation of Boris:
- headlight;
- inscription on the T-shirt;
- mole on the right (from player's view) cheek (aside).
Talk with Boris about everything, especially about headlight and a lighter. Then use the torch on Boris, he will lend you the lighter. Go to the abyss. Use lighter on both torches. Throw the last torch into the abyss (click the abyss and use torch and lighter; information well).
Come back to the tunnel and call the girl, talk with her about the well or use icon of climbing (or icon of well). Click the arrow on the entrance to let John get to other side.
Get a book
You will come to the place where the book is hidden, now you just need to get there. (If you want to see all John's incarnations, look at yourself in the mirror several times). At first go to the table on the right, take a lamp. Open the drawer and take a scroll of parchment. Read it.
Now look at the memorial in the middle of the screen. Light the candles by using the lighter, read the inscription and look at the metal round plate. Put the Yago medallion on this plate.
(If after lighting the candles near the memorial, you will come back to the last location and use the lighter on the torches on the wall - near right exit, torches on the right and left side of this exit - you will get Let There Be Light achievement).
Now look at the lamp, turn it upside down and use the hook on it. It appears that on the bottom of the lamp is Y symbol. Connect this symbol with medallion. Then put the lamp with the symbol on the plate.
(For getting out from catacombs you will get The Catacombs achievement).
Being in the cellar, click Boris to make sure he's alive. Click also an old man. Check barrels in the right bottom corner of the screen.
Observation of John:
- taped mouth;
- left (from player's view) pocket of trousers (aside);
- knot of blindfold (back of the head);
- tied hands (back);
- tied feet (aside).
Finally click the toolbox near John. Open it and choose a corkscrew. Turn it to pull out the blade and use it on John's tied hands.
Talk with the old man about everything. The next conversations will start automatically, choose whatever options you want to.
