ADVENT Priest - the enemies will be appearing in teams of 3.

ADVENT Priest is among the new units introduced in this expansion. The Priest is a Psionic support unit - its abilities allow it to increase the efficiency of his allies as well as to spread chaos among the enemy. This unit appears in three variants - Priest, Advanced Priest and Elite Priest. The upgraded versions have better stats and more abilities.

The priest can use the following abilities:

  1. Mind Control - every psi unit in the game can do that. It allows its user to assume control over enemy soldiers for 2 turns. This ability is available only for the Advanced and Elite versions, and can be ended by disorienting the enemy - for example with a flash bang grenade, or just by killing them.
  2. Stasis - this ability allows the Priest to block any actions of a single player's unit for 1 turn. When it's active, the unit is immune to attacks, but cannot do anything. Killing the Priest that used Stasis doesn't break the effect.
  3. Sustain - a passive ability that's activated when the Priest's HP is about to reach zero. The unit enters Stasis (becoming immune to attacks), and the HP is raised to 1. In the next turn, the Priest won't be able to move.
  4. Holy Warrior - Allows the Priest to connect to the mind of the chosen ally, providing a boost to accuracy and chances of critical hit. If the Priest that used this ability dies, the ally will also be killed.

The biggest threat is Mind Control and Sustain. If the enemy uses the former on one of your units, make sure to kill/stun/throw a flash bang to him to break the effect. When the enemy enters Stasis, set a couple units around him and order them to enter Vigilance - when the Stasis ends, your units will open fire and get rid of the enemy.
